In a recent episode of the 50 MPH podcast, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, stars of the 1994 hit movie ‘Speed,’ discussed their iconic collaboration and teased the possibility of returning for a third installment.
Reeves, known for his roles in ‘The Matrix‘ and ‘John Wick,‘ confidently stated, “I mean, you know — we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park.” Bullock added a humorous yet earnest desire to work with Reeves again, suggesting,
“Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera.”
Reflecting on their previous work together and the possibility of ‘Speed 3,’ Bullock noted her regret over participating in the sequel without Reeves, which didn’t receive the same acclaim as the original. Despite this, both actors fondly remembered their chemistry and the trust they built while filming the first ‘Speed,’ contributing to its success and their lasting friendship.
The Miss Congeniality star added that their connection on set helped fans root for their characters in the project. “I felt very comfortable with Keanu,” she said. “There was nothing that I couldn’t try or do or say that he wouldn’t have, I felt, fought for me to do or say or try, and that kind of trust is very rare with actors. Anytime I threw something his way, he swatted it right back and you just go, ‘OK, there’s my partner.’”
While no official plans for ‘Speed 3’ have been announced, the duo’s willingness to reunite for another high-speed adventure has certainly sparked excitement among fans, leaving many hopeful for what could be a thrilling return to the big screen for Jack and Annie.
