The series, originally titled Dune: The Sisterhood, is based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Set 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides, it follows two Harkonnen sisters navigating threats to humanity and establishing the Bene Gesserit sect. Tabu’s character, Sister Francesca, is described as strong, intelligent, and alluring, bringing intrigue to the imperial palace.
Tabu, renowned for her work in Indian cinema, has won two National Film Awards and received accolades for her roles in films like Cheeni Kum, Haider, and Andhadhun. She has also appeared in international productions such as Life of Pi and The Namesake The cast of Dune: Prophecy includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, and others, with Alison Schapker serving as showrunner and executive producer.
