Netflix has shared early pictures of the upcoming season of “The Crown.” The first part will be available on November 16, while the second part will follow on December 14.
In this season, “The Crown” will explore events from the late 1990s, with the first part focusing on the romantic relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, leading up to their tragic deaths in a car accident.
Additionally, Season 6 will delve into Prince William’s experience as he returns to Eton after his mother’s passing, while the monarchy deals with the challenges of public opinion. As Queen Elizabeth celebrates her Golden Jubilee, she ponders the future of the royal family, including the marriage of Charles and Camilla, and the beginning of a new royal story with William and Kate.
In Season 6 of “The Crown,” Prince William and Prince Harry’s growing up years are portrayed by two actors each – one for their younger selves and another for their older selves. In Part 1, Rufus Kampa plays young Prince William, while Ed McVey takes on the role in Part 2. Similarly, Fflyn Edwards plays young Prince Harry in Part 1, and Luther Ford portrays him in Part 2. Meg Bellamy will be playing Kate Middleton.
Elizabeth Debicki continues her role as Princess Diana, sharing her thoughts on the emotional challenge of portraying those times. She mentioned how she relied on the emotional blueprint created by the show’s creator, Peter, to capture the essence of the character’s devastating and complex moments.
The cast also includes Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles, Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.
“The Crown” is created and written by Peter Morgan, and the executive producers include Morgan, Suzanne Mackie, Andy Harries, Stephen Daldry, Matthew Byam Shaw, and Robert Fox.
