“I want to make it clear once and for all,” said Kyle Richards during her appearance on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast hosted by Alex Baskin. She addressed the claim that she is “fabricating” issues in her marriage for “relevance” and expressed disbelief at the suggestion.
During the podcast, Richards, a star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, questioned the logic of creating a false narrative about her marriage for ratings. “What human being would create a story like this? No offense, Alex. I love you and everybody with the show. But who would do that for ratings? Put their family through this,” she said. “That is one of the dumbest things I’ve maybe ever heard in these 13 years. I’m going to pretend that I’m separated and torture my children so that people tune in? I mean, it’s just the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
Richards, 53, emphasized that her motivation is not about seeking relevance through the show, highlighting her 13-year tenure on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She clarified her perspective, stating, “I care about being relevant to my friends and family. Yes, I’m on television, but I’m good. I’m not looking to be more relevant. I’m good. And I would never put my family through this, ever, for … I almost said it was a dumb TV show, sorry!”
Expressing frustration with the ongoing speculation, Richards addressed unfounded rumors about her marriage, including allegations of an open marriage and staying with her husband for financial gain. She refuted these claims, emphasizing that they are unfounded and do not align with her reality.
People magazine confirmed Richards’ separation from Mauricio Umansky in July, noting that they had been separated for a while but were still living under the same roof. Richards and Umansky clarified that while they have had a challenging year, any claims of divorce were untrue.
During her presence at BravoCon 2023, Richards shared with PEOPLE her commitment to cultivating strength during a challenging phase in her life. Promoting her partnership with Nexxus Unbreakable Care, she expressed the correlation between feeling good and looking good, stating, “When I feel good and my hair looks good, I feel unbreakable.” In the midst of her current experiences, she emphasized the significance of being strong in all aspects—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Richards conveyed her proactive efforts, affirming, “So I’m doing everything I can in my power to make sure that I am unbreakable.”
