Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have managed to maintain a low profile until now. However, the couple was recently spotted enjoying a meal together at the MO Lounge in New York City’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Saturday, October 21. The snapshots captured Grande, 30, and Slater, 31, in good spirits as they shared laughter at a discreet table in the restaurant, appearing quite affectionate.
This outing with Slater came just weeks after Grande finalized her divorce from ex-husband Dalton Gomez on October 6, marking the end of their two-year marriage. Their wedding took place in May 2021, but Grande filed for divorce in September, with the date of separation listed as February 20. While initially having some disputes over their prenuptial agreement, they eventually reached a compromise.
According to court documents obtained by Us on October 10, Grande agreed to pay Gomez $1,250,000 tax-free and share half of the net proceeds from the sale of their Los Angeles home. She also agreed to cover up to $25,000 in Gomez’s attorney fees, with no spousal support granted, per the prenup. Both Grande and Gomez would retain their personal belongings and equally divide the home furnishings.
The prenuptial agreement stipulates that neither party can release photos or videos from their marriage or publicly discuss the relationship. Grande was first spotted without her wedding ring at Wimbledon in July, and it was later confirmed that she and Gomez had been separated for several months after facing a rough patch in their relationship. It was in the same month that news emerged of her relationship with Wicked costar Slater, with Grande playing Glinda in the film and Slater portraying Boq.
A source informed Us in July that “Ariana and Ethan are dating; however, things are fairly new. They have only recently begun seeing each other but are having fun and enjoying each other’s company.”
Slater filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Lilly Jay, on July 26, shortly after news of his relationship with Grande became public. While a source claimed Lilly was blindsided, another source stated that both Slater and Grande had already separated when they started dating. Jay, in her interview with Page Six on July 27, criticized Grande, saying she is “not a girl’s girl” and that her family is collateral damage.
Since then, Grande and Slater have kept their relationship relatively private, especially after being advised to take things more slowly. “She’s very aware of how she’s perceived by her fans and is trying to be mature,” a source explained in August. “If it were up to her, she’d be seen with him tomorrow.” It seems they followed this advice, waiting until late September to make their first public appearance. They went to Disneyland with a group of friends, including Grande’s mom and brother, and it was reported that Grande’s friends “love” Slater.
Following their respective breakups, Grande and Slater are now living together full-time in New York, according to a source. They are reportedly very happy and are good for each other.
