Adult Swim has officially announced the return of the seventh season of the popular animated show, Rick and Morty. The network has assured fans that the upcoming episodes will continue to impress, even after the departure of co-creator Justin Roiland. The Emmy-winning sci-fi comedy is set to premiere on Sunday, October 15th, at 11 p.m. Consistent with recent seasons, this new installment will consist of 10 episodes.
Michael Ouweleen, the president of Adult Swim, enthusiastically confirmed the news, expressing gratitude for the show’s creative team. He emphasized that the upcoming season will once again push the boundaries of comedy and animation. Ouweleen believes that this season is just the beginning and that the talented individuals behind Rick and Morty are poised to deliver exceptional content.
Following his removal from the highly popular show, Justin Roiland’s departure was brought to light in January. He not only lost his lucrative overall deal but also faced charges of felony domestic abuse in Orange County, California. The situation escalated with allegations of Roiland engaging in abusive direct messaging with a fan, resurfacing of problematic interview comments, and workplace behavior concerns. However, in March, the criminal charges against him were dropped.
To stream Rick and Morty Season 7 online on Channel 4 from the US, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, India, or Europe, all you need to do is connect to a UK server using a VPN and begin your streaming experience.
In light of these events, Adult Swim has been in search of new voice talents that can provide a similar sound for the show’s main characters. Despite this change, the network has assured fans that the essence of the characters themselves will remain intact. While no new cast members have been officially announced, Dan Stevens has been chosen to lead another animated series by Roiland, titled “Solar Opposites,” which will air on Hulu.
A description for the upcoming season seven alludes to these recastings: “Rick and Morty are back and their voices are truer to their original selves than ever before! Season seven presents limitless possibilities: what’s going on with Jerry? Is Summer turning evil?! Will they revisit their high school days?! Perhaps not! But let’s discover together! This season promises fewer instances of certain content than the previous one. Rick and Morty, a century of adventures! Or at least until season ten!”
Adult Swim emphasizes that Rick and Morty dominated comedy ratings across cable during seasons three, four, five, and six. The show attracted over 19 million viewers through traditional broadcasting in 2022 and remains a standout series on the streaming platform Max. With two Emmy wins for Outstanding Animated Program and a third nomination underway, Rick and Morty’s popularity continues to thrive.
