If you’re tired of scrolling through the same old shows and movies on Netflix, there is a solution. The popular streaming service has a covert menu that houses numerous titles that are not visible on the main platform. This alternate selection can be accessed via codes linked to particular genres, such as Smart-Horror, Witty TV Comedies, and 90-minute Films.
There are two methods to access covert collections. You can do so from any desktop device by entering ‘netflix.com/browse/genre/’ into the URL and appending a unique identification code. Alternatively, if you use Netflix on a TV, you can directly input the code into the ‘search’ bar. However, this method is not functional on mobile devices or tablets.

The codes are numerical representations of categories that are nestled within Netflix’s library and are linked to content that was available in the company’s early days.
Netflix uses an algorithm on its main site and app to personalize the homepage experience of each subscriber by gathering data on user interests and viewing history.
Netflix has been making negative headlines recently. The struggling site announced earlier this year that it would be cracking down on password sharing, despite using it as a promotional tool in the past. A complete ban is expected to take effect this month in the United States.
In a letter to shareholders, the company shared the news and mentioned that “widespread account sharing” had exceeded 100 million viewers. These individuals will still be able to transfer their profiles to a new paid account, which will allow them to carry over their preferences.
The ban on sharing comes as a response to the company’s first loss of subscribers in over ten years. In the first quarter of 2023, the customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers.
In November 2022, the famously ad-free website introduced a cheaper subscription tier called ‘Basic with Ads’ for $6.99 per month, which is distinct from the standard $9.99 account. The new tier features commercials that last 15 or 30 seconds and appear before and during shows and movies.
In the lead-up to the recent ban on password sharing, the streaming service announced its intention to provide a paid sharing option for multiple users on the same account. Under the new policy, individuals watching Netflix using another person’s account must create their own logins and pay for their own access.
To facilitate account sharing among friends and family living elsewhere, ‘paid sharing’ will be available, which permits multiple users but costs less than a full subscription. Although accounts already come with five profiles, these are reserved exclusively for members of the same household. “Every account comes with five profiles that can be used by any member of the household,” stated a Netflix spokesperson.
