Matthew Perry, renowned for portraying Chandler Bing on “Friends,” once admitted he couldn’t watch the show due to it reminding him of his struggles with alcoholism and opioid addiction. Speaking in November 2022 while promoting his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” Perry shared the extent of his challenges, revealing he was taking 55 Vicodin daily, weighing only 128 pounds during his time on the iconic sitcom.
Perry, who sadly passed away at 54, was found unresponsive at his Los Angeles home on Saturday. While the cause of death remains undisclosed, authorities have ruled out foul play and the presence of drugs. In his memoir, Perry recounted praying for fame before joining “Friends,” only to realize that it couldn’t alleviate his battles with alcoholism and addiction.
