It seems the fans’ wishes have come true. Finally, Eragon is getting a live-action series on Disney+. This news was first broken by Variety which was confirmed by the writer of the Eragon series Paolini on Twitter.
The Disney Plus series will cover the Christopher Paulini novel series “The Inheritance Cycle.”
The story of “The Inheritance Cycle” with its first book is named after the main character “Eragon”, who discovers an egg that will hatch into the dragon, Saphira.
Eragon will train with her dragon and his mentor Brom’s help so that he can become a Dragon Rider, a prestigious order destroyed by its former member and current King Galbatorix.
“Eragon” is the first book in a tetralogy of young adult fantasy novels set in the fictional world of Alagaesia, followed by “Eldest”, “Brisingr”, and “Inheritance”.
The Eragon movie itself had tanked at the box office when it premiered in 2006 with poor reviews from critics and a rating of a mere 16% on Rotten Tomatoes.
With HBO Max releasing “House of Dragon” this August and Disney Plus working on their dragon series, we will see plenty of dragons on screen in the near future.
