Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, has confirmed on Twitter that season four will not be the final season, in response to fan speculation that it might be. Although there is no official announcement for season 5 yet, Kripke appears confident that it will happen.

The showrunner reassured fans that the upcoming season would not be the last and shared that he is in Toronto, where he is preparing to direct the finale episode of the fourth season which is titled “Assassination Run.” Although Kripke did not disclose the exact release date of Season 4, it’s expected to debut later this year.

Jessica Chou and David Reed are the writers of the season finale episode titled “Assassination Run.” The title has generated excitement among fans for what’s to come, although the series is known for its disturbing content. Despite that, viewers are still eager to see what’s in store for the next adventure with The Boys, especially after the defeat of fan-favorite character Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and his return to stasis at the end of the third season.

The third season of The Boys left fans with much to look forward to. Billy Butcher received a grim diagnosis of having little over a year to live due to his use of Compound V. Butcher reunited with The Boys, which now includes Hughie, Frenchie, Kimiko, Mother’s Milk, and Annie, to prepare for war against Homelander and other Supes. With both sides poised for conflict, viewers are already anticipating a season full of intense fights, gore, and destruction. Fans have already had a sneak peek at Season 4 through a behind-the-scenes image of Hughie covered in blood.

As you await the release of Season 4, you can stream previous seasons of The Boys on Prime Video. Keep an eye on Collider for updates on the show, including the premiere date for Season 4 and other news about Season 5. Below is Kripke’s tweet for your reference.

Cause you’re asking! We’ve been shooting since late August. I’m here to prep & direct the Season 4 finale. No, not the series finale, there will be more! Most importantly, S4 premieres… at some point in the future in our discernible reality. @PrimeVideo @SPTV https://t.co/UgNBPZKlCT
