After a long and successful run as the beloved Queen Vic pub landlord Mick Carter, Danny Dyer has made his final bow from EastEnders.
On Christmas Day 2022, Mick Carter made a tearful goodbye from EastEnders.
After nine unforgettable years of being part of the show, actor Danny Dyer has bid farewell to his iconic role as The Beloved Pub Landlord. He made his first debut over the Christmas holidays in 2013 and has been a beloved staple ever since.
On Christmas Day, Mick was finally informed of his spouse Janine’s pregnancy and the terrible consequences she had caused to Linda. In response, he admitted his love for her despite everything that happened before Janine attempted to leave the country. Eventually, their relationship rekindled as they reconciled in a heartwarming embrace.
In hot pursuit of Janine, Mick and Linda followed her to the coast. The ultimate confrontation led to a series events that culminated in Janine and Linda plummeting over a clifftop into the turbulent sea below.
With Linda’s motivation, Mick courageously ventured into the turbulent sea to save both Janine and then Linda. Yet as he vanished beneath the tumultuous waters, his beloved broke through on dry land.
So what happens next? Has Mick been taken from us in EastEnders?
Is Mick Carter dead in EastEnders?
Mick Carter’s destiny has been left purposefully unclear in EastEnders. His attempted heroics of saving his one true love Linda, yet disappearing into the sea, carries the same weight and devastation as if he had actually passed away; leaving his family and friends to believe that their beloved is gone forever.
Even the most seasoned soap fans understand that no character is ever truly gone unless their dead body has been seen on screen, and sometimes even then there could be a way to bring them back!
By not showing Mick Carter’s body, we are left with the possibility of Danny Dyer returning to his iconic role as Mick. This dramatic exit will surely leave an unforgettable impression amongst viewers and honor the character in a manner befitting such a beloved figure.
EastEnders could take advantage of Neighbours’ success and bring back Mick following a similar path as the beloved Harold Bishop.
When Ian Smith’s character Harold left Neighbours in 1991, he tragically vanished at sea and Madge (Anne Charleston) was forced to live with the possibility that she may have lost him forever since no body was ever discovered.
In an unexpected turn of events, Harold resurfaced in 1996 after being presumed dead. Miraculously, he had been found alive by a trawler and endured amnesia. Fortunately, the couple eventually reunited again!
One can only wonder if Mick Carter and Linda will have their own happy ending. Here’s to hoping for a joyful reunion between them.
