Julia Roberts, one of the most enduring stars in Hollywood, will receive a prestigious award at this year’s Academy Museum Gala. The second annual event is held on October 15th, 2022, and features many other celebrities, including honorees Miky Lee, Steve McQueen, and Tilda Swinton, among others!
The awards presented at the Gala will include:
- The Icon Award was presented to Julia Roberts, celebrating an artist whose career has had a significant global cultural impact.
- The Pillar Award presented to Miky Lee acknowledges exemplary leadership and support for the Academy Museum.
- The Visionary Award was presented to Tilda Swinton, honoring an artist or scholar whose extensive oeuvre has advanced the art of cinema.
- The Vantage Award, presented to Steve McQueen, honors an artist or scholar who has helped to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around the cinema.
This event is co-chaired by Oscar-winning actors Halle Berry and Lupita Nyong’o, and two trustees of the Academy Museum: Jason Blum, an Oscar nominee for producing, and Ryan Murphy, an Emmy winner for writing, directing, and producing.
