“The Tourist” is coming back for a second season, and Jamie Dornan will be reprising his role. The show, created and written by Jack and Harry Williams, is scheduled to begin filming in Dublin, Ireland in April.
Jamie Dornan expressed his enthusiasm to continue the story of “The Tourist” and work with the talented writers, Harry and Jack Williams. He looks forward to the audience’s reaction as the story progresses and Ireland and its characters are featured in an intriguing manner. In the darkly comedic, off-beat thriller, Dornan plays Elliott, who suffers from amnesia after a car accident and is joined by constable Helen Chambers, portrayed by Danielle Macdonald. In the second season, the pair ventures to Ireland to help Elliott recover his memories, but they soon find themselves involved in his risky past life.
According to the show’s logline, as Elliott battles his inner demons, Helen must solve a larger mystery, leading both characters to confront both new and old enemies. Danielle Macdonald expressed her excitement to collaborate again with Jamie Dornan and the outstanding cast and crew for the second season. She praised Jack and Harry Williams’ storytelling abilities and anticipates their innovative ideas for the upcoming episodes. “The Tourist” is produced by Two Brothers Pictures, the production company behind “Fleabag,” in partnership with All3Media, Stan, and ZDF International. Jamie Dornan serves as an executive producer, alongside Daniel Walker and Sarah Hammond of Two Brothers and Nawfal Faizullah of the BBC.
The first block of the six-episode season of “The Tourist” will be directed by Fergus O’Brien, who has worked on “Happy Valley,” while Johann Perry, also from “Happy Valley,” will serve as the DOP. Louise Kiely, known for her work on “The Banshees of Inisherin,” is the casting director for the show. Harry and Jack Williams expressed their gratitude for the positive response to the first season and their excitement to continue the story with the unique and off-beat characters. They also look forward to exploring new directions while maintaining the show’s distinctive tone. All3Media international will handle global sales for the show.
