The second season of the Freevee show “Bosch: Legacy” kicks off this Friday with two super intense episodes that will take you on a thrilling and nerve-wracking ride.
In the previous season, things got really intense when they found out that a very cruel serial rapist was targeting Bosch’s daughter, Maddie, who is a rookie cop. Season 2 begins with her being kidnapped and buried in a box with limited air. A determined Harry Bosch will do everything he can to rescue her.
These first two episodes are so action-packed that they will be released like a movie in 180 different markets. Tom Bernardo, the show’s creator, said, “We know some viewers were left hanging at the end of Season 1, so we wanted to dive right into that excitement.”
“We wanted to do something different this time around. For our first two episodes, we wanted to create a compressed story, almost like a standalone movie. We aimed to make it feel like a nightmarish, intense, and nearly impossible situation.
While “Legacy” is inspired by Michael Connelly’s popular Bosch books, it has developed its own identity.
The core of this series revolves around the relationship between a father and his daughter, and how it changes as their lives evolve,” Bernardo explained. “This is the most intense and horrifying experience Bosch has faced in the entire series.
So, what are the consequences now that his daughter has survived? Survivors of such traumatic events are changed, and they carry that experience with them. What does this mean for their relationship now? What does it mean for a father who had to confront his worst nightmare, knowing the dangers his daughter faces as a law enforcement officer on the streets of Los Angeles?”
“We found these questions to be quite intriguing from a storytelling perspective.”
Mimi Rogers plays Honey “Give me the Money” Chandler, the third star of the series. Chandler is a crucial part of “Legacy,” even though she appeared in only one of the 24 Bosch books and was killed off.
“At this point, the interesting thing – and the challenge – is that these characters have naturally evolved into something different in our story. So, it’s exciting to determine what’s going to happen next. Which books can we adapt – if any?” acknowledged Bernardo.
“Just to clarify, the situation in the first two episodes, which includes Bosch secretly going to the morgue to investigate, is entirely created for the series. It’s not from Michael Connelly’s books. We came up with all of it.”
You can catch “Bosch: Legacy S2” on Freevee this Friday.
