Anne Hathaway shared that she was advised her career might decline after turning 35, with a warning that it’s a common challenge for women in Hollywood as they age.
Anne Hathaway, known for roles in “The Devil Wears Prada” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” shared in a recent interview that she was told her career would decline after turning 35.
In the discussion with Porter magazine, the 41-year-old actress talked about her successful career and addressed the challenges women in Hollywood encounter as they age. Hathaway, who has been part of projects like “Ocean’s 8,” “The Witches,” and “WeCrashed” in recent years, mentioned that she received a warning about her career facing difficulties after reaching 35 when she first entered the industry as a child.
Hathaway mentioned that over the years, more actors have shown that success in Hollywood is possible as they age, signalling positive changes in the industry.
She expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “It’s fantastic that more women are continuing their careers later in life.” However, she added a note of realism, saying, “It doesn’t mean we should celebrate excessively – someone recently told me, ‘There’s a lot to be proud of, but there’s also much to improve.'”
Hathaway also pointed out that she still works with the same team she had since she was 16.
Hathaway shared, “The connections in my life have great vibes, like a well-seasoned pan, and I believe I’m still evolving.”
This isn’t the first instance of Hathaway talking about challenging comments from her past. In January, the Oscar winner remembered an early career moment when a journalist asked her, “Are you a good girl or a bad girl?”
