We know Henry Cavill is back as Superman in the DCU (formerly DCEU). But what about his love interest Lois Lane (Amy Adams)? The actress behind the hard-hitting journalist recently addressed her status in the superhero franchise.
“Isn’t it exciting?” says Adams when asked about Cavill returning to the iconic role. She made the remarks on Wednesday at the premiere of “Disenchanted.”
Amy Adams did not discover Cavill’s return as Superman at the same time as fans did. She says it was her husband Darren Le Gallo who was the first one to inform her, after Superman’s return to the DCU in Black Adam.
Amy Adams is thrilled
The actress continues, “He’s such a wonderful Superman so I’m very excited for him.”
Regarding her return to the eventual Man of Steel sequel, Adams says she has no idea if she will be back.
“They haven’t spoken to me about it. If it’s me, great. If it’s somebody else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past so I’ll support whatever direction they go.”
Henry Cavill is back as Superman
On October 24, Cavill made his return as Superman official. This was on heels with his appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.
Cavill told Screenrant: “There is something extraordinarily special about him; extraordinarily special about his capacity to give and to love. I don’t mean romantically; I mean his love for Earth and for the people who live here, and to make people feel powerful — to make people feel like Superman themselves.”
Warner Bros. is currently looking for pitches for the Man of Steel sequel. The move is expected to be supervised by James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new stewards tasked with carving out a brand new direction for the DC slate of films. They will be making the decision regarding Amy Adams and her place in the superhero franchise.
